What "Tree Felling" actually means.
Felling is the controlled removal of a tree in its entirety. Where there's room we can drop the tree in one piece; in tighter spots — most domestic gardens fall into this camp — we section-fell from the top down, taking the tree apart piece by piece and lowering each section using ropes and rigging. The result is the same, just safer for what surrounds it.
What's involved on the day
- On-site survey of fall zones, services overhead and ground conditions
- Section-felling from a climbing rope, or whole-tree fell where space allows
- Rigging of larger limbs and timber to control the descent
- Processing of timber and chipping of brash on site
- Removal of all arisings, or stacking of cordwood if you'd like to keep it
When you might need it
- Tree is dead, dying or showing signs of structural decay
- Storm damage has left a tree leaning, split or otherwise unsafe
- Tree has outgrown its position and is causing subsidence or light issues
- Site is being developed and the tree needs to be removed lawfully
